Director - Jacob Fox

Mr. Fox joined Meadowlawn Middle School as Director of Bands in 2022. He leads the MMS Beginning Band, Blue Band, Lancer Band, and Lancer Jazz Band. He also teaches exploring music. Under Mr. Fox, the Meadowlawn Middle School Band has almost doubled in size over the past year earning Excellent and Superior ratings at all assessments, and continues to grow while spreading their tradition of excellence in the classroom and on the stage.

Prior to his appointment at Meadowlawn Middle School, Fox Graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from the University of South Florida. While at USF, Fox was a member of the 300+ member Herd of Thunder Marching Band for two years. He studied Tuba and Euphonium under Professor Joseph Alvarez, Principal Tuba of the Venice and Imperial Symphony Orchestras, and Dr. Aaron Campbell, President of the Tampa Brass Band. Fox also studied conducting under Dr. Matthew McCutchen and Dr. Marc Sosnowchik. 

Fox is a member of NAfME, FMEA, FBA, ITEA, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and resides in Clearwater, Fl. 

Emilee Taylor

Ms. Taylor joined the MMS Band Staff as a woodwind instructor in 2023. She visits the school two to three days per week and works with woodwind players in all ensembles, as well as serving as a guest conductor for the MMS Lancer Band.

Ms. Taylor is currently a Music Performance and Music Education Major at St. Petersburg College, where she studies conducting under Dr. Nathan Muehl, Director of Bands at SPC, and Flute under Professor David Tagliarini. Ms. Taylor has also studied Flute under Spencer Katz, Nathan Muehl, and the acclaimed Barbara Prescott, Flautist of the Florida Gulf Coast Symphony (now The Florida Orchestra).
